ITECH Helps Low Altitude Economy Take Off: UAV and New Aircraft Testing Solution Leads to a New Era of Future Transportation

The low-altitude economy is an emerging market that encompasses all airborne economic activity within 1 kilometer (0.6 miles) of the Earth's surface. This includes sectors like air tourism, general aviation services, low-altitude flight, scientific research and education, and passenger transportation. The low-altitude economy has been gaining interest from countries around the world, with China leading the way. In 2023, China's low-altitude economy was estimated to be worth over 500 billion RMB, and some predict it could reach 2 trillion RMB by 2030.

What is the difference between low-altitude economy and the drones?

The low altitude economy consists of four major segments, namely infrastructure, aircraft manufacturing, operation services and flight protection, which have commonalities but encompass a wider range of application scenarios compared to general aviation and drones.

What aircraft are included in the low-altitude economy?

The solution proposes to promote large and medium-sized fixed-wing aircraft, plateau-type helicopters, as well as drones and other airworthiness certification and put into operation, and to realize the coverage of the entire region's emergency rescue capabilities. It supports accelerating the development and production of regional logistics and terminal distribution drones and putting them into operation. Support the development of smart air travel (SAM) equipment, and promote the airworthiness certification of a number of new consumer general aviation equipment such as electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL). Encourage the research and development of flying car technology, product validation and exploration of commercial application scenarios.

It can be seen that for different application scenarios, the specific types of vehicles to be promoted are different. We are no longer far away from the vision of flying in the city.

Do aircraft mainly run on oil or electricity?

Electrification is the main direction of technology, taking into account hybrid power, hydrogen power, sustainable fuel power and other technology routes. In the industrial supply chain, it is also mentioned that it will speed up the layout of new energy general aviation power technology and equipment, promote the mass production of 400Wh/kg grade lithium aviation batteries, and realize the application verification of 500Wh/kg grade lithium aviation batteries; carry out the research and development of the hybrid propulsion system below 400kW; and promote the large-scale mass production of the aviation motors and drive systems of 250kW and below and the application verification of the products of 500kW grade. Verification of application of products of 500kW level. Improvement of navigation and positioning, communication, meteorology, charging and other functional services in the new infrastructure facilities system. With the soaring sales of new energy vehicles, aircraft will soon be added to the scenarios of new energy, smart grid and intelligent transportation.

ITECH specializes in power electronics test and measurement, and has a full range of solutions for all kinds of electric vehicles and drones, including eVTOL.
